Intelligence Tests

In intelligence Tests, the basic aptitude of the candidate is tested.

 This test consisted of the collection in various forms which are 

required to be solved within a specified time limit. These problems

 are in different forms: letters, words, patterns, pictures, etc. 

The basic idea underlying the logical reasoning test is to judge the

 inborn quality of the examinee as these tests require mental

 alertness, keenness, quick thinking, and keen observation.

 A man may be best suited in one job whereas he may be a failure

 in other fields e.g., a man who is most suitable as a doctor person

 or may not be well furnished for engineering or an educationist job.

 Everyone has a special aptitude for a certain type of work and 

does well in that particular field. But if he is put in another field, 

he may prove to be a failure. To avoid such an eventuality the 

work of a selection of an Appropriate or most suitable person 

for the specific job needs great care. The intelligence and logical

 tapping test help in the selection of suitable candidates for 

different jobs.

 

Intelligence tests can be divided into two main types:

 Verbal and non-verbal

In verbal tests, the items stated in language form whereas in

 non-verbal tests the items are stated in the form of lines, 

drawing, picture and special equipment made of plastic and wood.

 

(A) VERBAL INTELLIGENCE TESTS

 

In the verbal test, the questions are stated in the form of language.

 The examinees are supplied with a booklet that contains

 variegated exercises designed to test their knowledge and 

intelligence. These sets can be of different types. But the most 

important types are being explained in the subsequent pages.
